a little something…

While battling a New Year’s virus (which left me feeling totally exhausted) I decided that I wanted to channel my energy into a mini creative project, something that could keep me going and motivated.

About a year ago, I created my first madauer beads look-book. It was actually part of my Advanced Design Communications course in the spring and I loved it. For my independent project, I chose to create a look-book, compiling my own images and text to tell the story behind madauer beads. With the new year, I decided to update this book a bit, but with a new spin: create it within the layout size for Instagram stories.

I share so much of myself and what I am currently working on with Instagram, so I decided this mini project could be a fun way to create with the Instagram audience in mind.

This mini look-book, as I like to call it, reminded me of one of my constant goals: to create everyday, even if it is a small project, like drawing or doodling in my sketchbook. I think that design can feel nerve-wracking or intimidating from time to time, but the more comfortable I am with something, the less stress I feel. This freedom to create will only leave me feeling more free and inspired.

If you haven’t gotten the chance to see my mini 2020 look-book yet, I have included it below. I would love to hear what you think!
