Madauer beads officially began around the summer of my freshman year at Saint Joe’s (the summer of 2016). I have always loved creating bracelets, from threaded friendship bracelets to beaded bracelets. After I created my personal blog during my freshman year, I began to discover my passion for creating. I also began to form my personal aesthetic during this time. I realized my love for the hues of the ocean, as well as my minimalistic and simplistic aesthetic.
During the summer of 2016, I began forming the identity behind my brand. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was laying the foundation for what would become “madauer beads.” During that summer, I had the blessing of spending a great deal of my time at the beach. I also had the opportunity to meet and become friends with the Indigo Octopus team. These new friends inspired me to reach my goals and accomplish anything I set my mind to.
Inspired by the hues of the ocean and relaxing vibe of the beach, my set collection of 6 beaded bracelets translates the feel of the ocean into a tangible collection of bracelets. Each bracelet takes on a name inspired by the beach. Each bracelet also holds its own meaning from within.
I have been truly blessed by the love and kindness my brand and my bracelets have received, especially by my friends on Hawk Hill at Saint Joe’s. Most recently, my beads were featured in an article by Saint Joe’s students. The spread of my beads has been something that I never expected, and I am so happy that they have been received so well by others.
Here’s to another year of madauer beads. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them! If you would like to see more of my beads, head over to my personal Instagram.
