I could hardly contain my excitement with the release of my latest drift collection SO I decided what better way to celebrate its release than with a blog post. Keep reading to find out the inspo + meaning behind the drift collection.
If you don’t already follow me on Instagram, that is where I release all of my bead collection drops. For this latest release, I was excited to see how people reacted because it is the first time that I am introducing something other than jewelry into my line.
I have been brainstorming different ideas and experimenting with other elements into my bracelets for awhile. One day, as I was driving my car (her name is actually Drifter!!) my eye caught my rearview mirror and I realized I didn’t have anything hanging from it. I started to think about what I could hang from it…an air freshener maybe? (immediately eliminated this option because I hate strong scents) or a cute hanging. The drift collection was then born!
I started experimenting with thicker thread which brought me back to my childhood days when I made hemp friendship bracelets. I have definitely branched out in terms of my style and am going into a bohemian vibe (both in my daily fashion + through these beads). The best part about the drift collection is that each hanging I have made thus far is one of a kind. Many of the beads that I am incorporating into these hangings are ones I have collected over the years. I love experimenting with the different patterns of these hangings to create something unusual, bohemian, yet beach-y and simple for your space.
I can’t wait to see how they are used by their new owners. Some of my ideas are to hang them from your car mirror, your keychain / backpack, or even in your room by a window. For me, drift means, “to be with you wherever you may go” in all of your life adventures.
As I continue to experiment with the different designs, I also plan on implementing in driftwood, shells, and sea glass. I can’t wait to see the endless creative roads that the drift collection leads me down.
To purchase your own hanging from the drift collection, send me a message via my Instagram – I would love to see the ways that they are used, so be sure to tag me with any photos that you post.
If you know me, then you are well aware that my favorite season is summer. I love the longer days, sunshine, spending time at the beach, and basically everything else that comes along with the summertime months (minus the mosquitoes).
Summer allows me to get creative with my fashion, experimenting with dresses, cropped pants, tanks, and of course, denim shorts. In this post, I will share with you my go-to summer looks and favorite fashion pieces.
The perfect knit sweater (to throw on during those chillier summer nights)
Lately, I have been wearing this Madewell sweater non-stop. I love the way it looks with cut-off denim shorts and sandals. I found mine from Madewell (on sale!) but you can find similar ones from Target x Universal Threads or any other store. I would say to not be afraid of sizing up with a sweater like this – sometimes the baggier, the better (in my opinion).
Denim cut offs
One of my favorite things about summer has to be wearing denim shorts. I love searching Nordstrom Rack for denim shorts. I always end up finding my favorite pairs from their selection. Lately I’ve been loving my Blank NYC cut offs and my Levi Wedgie shorts. I couldn’t find exact pairs, so I will link to similar options below. My advice would be to check out your local Nordstrom Rack or even go thrifting. Nice thrift stores tend to have a great selection of denim – whether you want to cut a pair of jeans into shorts and style them yourself, or get lucky and find the perfect pair. Sometimes thrifting makes the process of finding them even more fun!
Easy light tanks
To stay cool this summer, especially when living without central air in my house, I have been slipping on these light + comfy tanks with basically every outfit. I invested in a black tank from Aritzia x Wilfred and I couldn’t be happier with it. Its thicker material and flattering shape makes it a perfect addition to any outfit I pair it with. I have also been loving my Free People Cami in white – like my black Aritzia top, I find that it pairs so well with whatever I pair it with and looks great layered with a denim jacket.
Cropped Pants (need I say more??)
If there is
one thing that I suggest you give a try this summer, it’s cropped wide leg
pants. I have been loving the way these look and make me feel this summer. The
best thing about these pants is that similar to dresses, they look elevated and
chic, yet are probably comfier than anything else in my closet!
I have been loving my natural linen pants from Gap (really, I got them at Gap), and my chocolate-y brown linen pants from MUJI (similar pair linked below). I would say that the Gap pants are a bit more cropped than those from MUJI. I love pairing both of them with one of my tanks and a pair of sandals. I have also been loving my Aritzia x Wilfred Free cropped pant. I would say that this pair is a bit more elevated and “work / internship” appropriate when dressed up.
Sandals, sandals and yes, more sandals. I love letting my feet breathe in the summertime by taking a break from closed-toe shoes. My favorite pairs this summer have been found at DSW, Urban Outfitters, Target, and local beach shops. The pair I feature in my video are from Sea Quest and by the brand Madeline – I found them online via Madeline here!
DSW has an awesome selection and I have linked some of my favs below. If you’re looking for a bit more of an edgy sandal, I would check out Urban Outfitters. I have been loving the Dr. Martens sandal selection and recently purchased these.
If you’re looking for an easy black slide that will literally go with any outfit, head over to these shoes at Target. I actually just purchased a second pair of them because I love them that much.
found that Blowfish has a very boho selection of sandals and slides, perfect
for summer and pairing with all of the items that I have included so far!
are such a fun addition to any outfit. I have had some real luck with finding
bags this summer. My favorites are from Free People, Indigo Octopus, and TJ
Maxx. I even found a super cool vintage wool knit cross-body from a local
If you’re looking for a cute woven basket type of bag, check out Urban Outfitters (linked below), Free People, Indigo Octopus (located in Fenwick, DE), or TJ Maxx / Marshalls. Lately, they have had some awesome basket bags (both smaller and larger beach bag sizes!)
I would love to hear what pieces you are loving this summer. Head over to my video to see how I styled these pieces!
